Will Bruce (b. 1996, North Wales) is a London-based photographer who favours analogue processes. Infused with a literary sensibility, Will’s photographs often feel like fragments from a larger, unseen story. Journeys, wilderness and solitude recur as themes, as do references to Modernism — an aesthetic dialogue between the wild and the refined.

He develops and prints each image by hand, embracing the imperfections and surprises that happen when working with film. This tactile approach allows him to build a close, physical relationship with the medium — where the print becomes both an image and an object.

Will studied English Literature and History of Art at The University of Edinburgh, an academic foundation that continues to inform his photographic practice. Deeply inspired by the art and literary movements that flourished at the turn of the twentieth century, Will seeks to channel that spirit of experimentation and clarity into a contemporary visual language.

His work has been featured by DAZED, AnOther Magazine and the New York Times T Magazine. His prints are sold on Wondering People, and alongside his editorial practice he has undertaken select commercial work for Nike.
